| Non-executive
team |
| Rohit Chand |
| Rohit as the non-executive Chairman of Cogent
and provides overall supervision and strategic
direction to Cogent. Rohit has over thirty years
of experience in the IT Services Industry. He
has a Bachelor's Degree from the Indian Institute
of Technology, New Delhi and an MBA from the
Katz Graduate School of Business, University
of Pittsburgh, USA. Rohit started his career in software development
in 1970 in the U.S. and later moved to India
to head the information technology division
of Computronics India. In 1985, Rohit ventured
out on his own and through a series of acquisitions
and mergers created IIS Infotech Ltd., one of
India's foremost software companies, of which
he was the Executive Chairman. IIS was bought
over by the FI Group Plc. (now Xansa Plc.),
which is a UK-based multinational and Rohit
exited the company. Thereafter, Rohit co-founded
Infinity Venture Fund which has a corpus of
US$ 40 million and bought a significant stake
in IT&T and contributed to its growth and
diversification. Rohit is a recipient of the
IIT Delhi Alumni award for outstanding contribution
to national development. |
| Umen Bewtra |
| Umen as Business Advisor and non-
executive Director is responsible overall Sales
and Growth strategy for Cogent. He sits on the
Boards of Amsys Infotech Ltd. and Scicominfotech
Ltd. He was earlier co-founder of IIS Infotech
Ltd. and ran the UK operations which contributed
roughly 70% of IIS’ revenues. Prior to this
he was Group Managing Director of the Third Wave
Group in the UK with extensive international operations.
Before that he ran the north Indian operations
of Tata Consultancy Services. He is one of the
pioneers of ‘Offshore Development’
and the current day ‘Outsourcing’
industry in India. |
| Dr. Ajay Shankar |
| Ajay has over thirty years of experience
in the engineering design services domain. He
has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
from the Indian Institute of Technology, New
Delhi, India and has a Masters Degree and Ph.D.
in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon
University, Pittsburgh, PA.Ajay founded Axis Inc. in 1987 to provide high
quality Engineering, CAD/CAM and Software Development
Services. Prior to this Ajay worked in Caterpillar
for 14 years in various functions including
Manufacturing, Engineering, World-wide Product
Sourcing, and Computer Aided Engineering. His
last position at Caterpillar was Manager of
Computer Aided Engineering, where he led a group
of about 70 engineers providing software for
use by Caterpillar Product Design and Manufacturing
Engineers at Caterpillar Facilities worldwide. |
| Executive
Team |
| Shaival Sahay |
| Shaival is a co-founder and CEO of Cogent.
He has over 18 years of Chartered Accountancy
experience. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute
of Chartered Accountants of India. He specialises
in Statutory Corporate Audits Corporate Restructuring
and Rehabilitation Consulting Investigation
and Business Advisory Services. He also possesses
rare insight into taxation and foreign currency
management, as well as the understanding of
banking and insurance sector. He had earlier founded a successful accountancy
practice in 1988 which currently employs over
thirty staff and provides accountancy services
to customers based in India, UK, US and Middle-East. |
| Raj Kumar |
| Raj is a co-founder and Director
of Cogent. He holds a MBA from Henley Management
College, one of the most prestigious management
colleges in the UK. He has 14 years of Management
Consulting experience working in telecommunications,
spanning sales, marketing and customer care, leading
many projects from early diagnosis and solution
strategy phases, through to detailed design and
implementation. His focus is on delivering sustained
performance improvement through timely and effective
deployment of technology and operational change. |
| Simon Rogers |
| Simon is Cogent Sales Director.
Simon is a Chartered Management Accountant. Simon’s
12 years of Accounting Experience was gained as
a Management Accountant and Financial Controller
for Burberrys’, Norcross and Victaulic (a
management buy out from British Steel). In the
last sixteen years Simon has been responsible
for sales leadership and the building of sales
teams for both start-up and established organisations,
selling high value contracts covering outsourced
services, application software and associated
integration services to blue chip organisations
in Europe, USA and the UK, across all major market
sectors for organisations including Cap Gemini,
Systems Union and Third Wave. Simon is fully conversant
with the services delivery market especially in
the area Finance and Accounting, having specialised
in Accounting systems and services. |
